The cobbled lanes, old smuggling inns and interesting shops and galleries in the ancient Cinque Port of Rye are just 5 miles away, as are Battle and its famous abbey, and the historic seaside town of Hastings with its fascinating museums and undersea experience. Unspoilt beaches, delicious cream teas, and many of the National Trust’s finest properties (including romantic Bodiam Castle) and great gardens are also close at hand. Shop 0.5 miles, pubs serving food 0.25 miles.
